Every year a group of us from the DCI team attend the MACUHO annual conference. This year, we were honored with the their coveted with their Business Affiliate Award.

What is MACUHO? The acronym stands for Mid-Atlantic Association for College And University Housing Officers.

The MACUHO mission reads:

The purpose of the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers is to serve our members through opportunities for professional development and education, networking and interaction, and access to research and current trend information. Association activities and decisions are based on the principles of inclusion, collaboration, involvement from a diverse population of practitioners, and mentoring of current and future colleagues.

MACUHO is a subgroup of ACUHO-I. ACUHO-I is the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International.

ACUHO-I members believe in developing exceptional residential experiences at colleges, universities, and other post-secondary institutions around the world.

ACUHO-I consists of more than 1,000 member campuses, as well as more than 250 product and service providers. ACUHO-I provides its members with innovative, value-driven events, publications, research, career services, and online professional development as well as valuable networking opportunities. We help our members evolve themselves and their institutions in their efforts to provide their residents with dynamic living environments.

According to the MACUHO website:

The Business Affiliate Award recognizes outstanding contributions and commitment to the work and mission of MACUHO by a business partner.

DCI Vice President David Kober, who serviced the job, has this to say about winning the award:

Penn State was so happy with the work we did this summer they nominated us for vendor of the year for the entire mid-Atlantic region (NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD and VA) and we won!

And as DCI President and founder Henry Kober noted:

Winning this prestigious award would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the 200 local men and women who work so hard for DCI.
